OLEA premieres a new work, Wind Blows Lotus Leaves by Owen Hopper at New Music Chicago's Impromptu Fest!
Built out of the idea of a collection of movements in Guang Ping Yang t’ai chi, the titles come from names of movements found in the long form. Each movement serves as a sonic representation of the physical movement and acts as a meditation and performance for audience and performer. Drawing on the structuring of Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time, there are both ensemble and solo movements.
This performance is free to the public with donations accepted.
